The trailer doesn’t say much about the movie. Perhaps the title, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, says it all.

Michael Bay donned in the white shirt directs the sequel and is operating the camera at John Turturro, who returns as Agent Simmons.

transformers 2 poster Following the trend set by The Dark Knight, the next Michael Bay film will see at least three action setpieces filmed using IMAX cameras.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will continue the story from the original, featuring even more action and ridiculously awesome robot action next Summer.

Various other directors have expressed interest in shooting IMAX scenes, including Jon Favreau (Iron Man 2) and D.J. Caruso (Y: The Last Man).

transformers-pics-02-march2 On ComingSoon is word that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will be released in both conventional theaters and IMAX on June 26, 2009. The original film hit conventional theaters first and then was released in IMAX two months later.

The sequel recently ran into trouble with Shia LaBeouf, the chief protagonist, had surgery done on his hand due to a car accident. However, he is set to return to the set tomorrow, with filming hopefully uninterrupted by other distractions.

transformers2bw0 It appears that Shia LaBeouf’s injury is causing a bigger delay to the shooting of Transformers 2 than was originally thought. The trades are reporting that first unit filming on the film has been put on a four week – one month – hiatus. However, the second unit, which includes shots like scenery, close-ups of objects and other such things, is continuing.

LaBeouf was recently injured in a car accident. His injury was originally thought to have caused a few week’s delay, with the first unit still shooting other scenes without him. It is not known if this delay will affect the release of the film next year.

Here’s an interesting little scoop. My.spill.com managed to get a hold of Michael Bay’s unsolicited script for The Dark Knight, which of course got instantly rejected by Warner Bros, who released Christopher Nolan’s current record-breaker. The site manages to post a couple of pages of said script, revealing the extent of Bay’s “talents”. Quality moments include a description of Rachel Dawes as: “She is the hottest woman in the world, but she wears glasses because she is also the smartest woman in the world”, the attention given to Bruce Wayne’s pecs, and the slow-mo sequences of the Batmobile narrowly avoiding civilians happening “seventeen times”.

Okay, obviously this is a joke, but in every joke there is some truth, and I imagine if Michael Bay ever attempted a Batman script, we’d end up with something pretty similar. Kudos to My Spill for coming up with one of the funniest parodies in months!

I took a quick look at Entertainment Weekly’s interview with Michael Bay.  My first impression: This guy is confident and bright, knows his stuff about films.

In the interview he talks about Transformers 2 and Friday the 13th. He even comments on The Dark Knight script he supposedly rejected. Michael Bay sounds like a high-dynamic guy.

Here’s the interview — enjoy!

tfrevengeSuperherohype has some ne ws on the upcoming Transformers sequel, quoting Michael Bay on the university plot angle, as well as a “cryptic clue”. Quoting Bay, the site reports that shooting at Princeton is important to the plot as it is “all about Sam growing up and going to college… a teenager growing into a man.”

As to why he chose the university: “I just love the look of the university.” Bay also added that the Princeton campus reminds him of Wesleyan University, his alma mater. The cryptic clue? Here it is:

Meanwhile, Josh Duhamel gave Empire Online a cryptic clue: "I guess who he’s working with is probably the biggest change," said Duhamel, before adding once more, presumably for emphasis. "Who he’s working with."

The site speculates that the “Fallen” part of the subtitle may refer to the powerful Fallen, one of the 13 original Transformers, who the Autobots and Decepticons team up to defeat.

Ever so funny Rainn Wilson, who intensely performs Schrute on NBC’s “The Office,” has spoken that he has been cast in DreamWorks’ “Transformers 2.” The sequel to last year’s megahit about a race of automotive automatons smashing it out on Earth reteams director Michael Bay with returning stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and John Turturro.

Filming started in Los Angeles in recent weeks and is moving to Pennsylvania and then overseas.

Although not a huge role, Wilson’s casting — his first in a big-budget studio franchise – may draw a bigger audience interested in comedic relief. He will play a college professor to LaBeouf’s new undergrad.
