Fast Five brand new poster looks pretty awesome for the next installment of the Fast and Furious franchise series starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Matt Schulze, Tego Calderon and Joaquim de Almeida.

The film continues to follow Dominic (Vin Diesel) and his crew who find themselves as usual on the wrong side of the law as they try to switch lanes between a ruthless drug lord and a relentless federal agent played by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. The gang has to break into a police station. Not only that, but they’ve got an angry drug lord looking to pull the handbrake on their lives and driven federal agent Luke Hobbs (Johnson) hunting them down.

Doesn’t Johnson look tougher and more like a stud than Diesel?

The movie opens wide in the theaters on April 29, 2011.

fastandfuriousstill2The fifth installment of Fast and Furious is coming to the big screen as Fast Five. The title might change through the course of development, but for now it’s Fast Five.

Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and director John Lin return to the franchise. The fourth installment was the highest-grossing Fast and Furious film ever. Its box office brought in more than $350 million worldwide.  That’s a good reason to do number five.

The story finds Dom (Diesel) and Brian (Walker) as fugitives being pursued by relentless lawmen. So, they have to drive fast and furious to get away.

The plans are to begin production later this year for a 2011 release.

Having been Fast and Furious long enough, Paul Walker is moving on to other projects and is in talks to play the male lead in upcoming thriller Protection. Simon West (Con Air) is also in the running to helm the pic.

The film tells the story of a 21-year old daughter of a Mexican judge who is targeted by the mob after she sees them kill her father and other family members. She pairs up with Walker’s character and must stay on the run on both sides of the border.

West’s involvement in the film depends on whether the remake of The Mechanic comes through.
