I am very happy to hear that Sam Mendes is examining the prospect of directing the 23rd installment of the James Bond franchise. Mendes will bring a whole new element to the Bond franchise. His films are off-beat and emotionally driven like American Beauty, where he won an Academy Award, Revolutionary Road and Away We Go.  I just hope we get to see more parkour. 

With Mendes behind the camera, production will launch quickly and will be fast-tracked. Production could initiate as soon as June with a release date set for 2011. 

The same writing team, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, together with Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon) will complete the script. My favorite Bond Daniel Craig will reprise his role as 007.
