I had no idea that Life As We Know It would win the Friday’s box office.  I just didn’t know it would happen!  I must admit, I am surprised.  The Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel starrer brought in about $5.2 million. The Social Network came in second collecting about $4.9 million.

My favorite choice, Secretariat, finished at third with about $4 million. My Soul to Take, a 3D movie, came in fourth earning an estimate of $2.7 million. The Town rounded out the top 5 on Friday with about $1.8 million.

Quite an interesting outcome at the weekend box office, The Social Network brought in the most money with last week’s opener Legends of the Guardian in second place. Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps came in third and The Town in fourth. Easy A came in fifth to round off the first five. The two other openers: Case 39 and Let Me In kept a low profile at seventh and eighth, which I find very interesting. Perhaps, we are not ready for horror movies this far out from Halloween.

Results:

1. The Social Network
$23,000,000

2. Legend of the Guardians
$10,900,000

3. Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps

4. The Town
$10,000,000

5. Easy A
$7,000,000

6. You Again
