USA Network announces the launch of Character Project, an ongoing artistic initiative to celebrate the extraordinary people, from all walks of life, who make this country unique. Inspired by USA’s iconic “Characters Welcome” brand, and with the support of the not-for-profit photography organization Aperture Foundation, USA assembled a team of 11 world-class photographers to capture the character of America during the summer of 2008. The artists’ work is showcased in the powerful photography book entitled American Character: A Photographic Journey (Chronicle Books), which features a foreword by best-selling author and former “NBC Nightly News” anchor Tom Brokaw.

American Character features the work of legendary artists Mary Ellen Mark and Sylvia Plachy as well as Dawoud Bey, Jeff Dunas, David Eustace, Eric Ogden and emerging talents Marla Rutherford, Anna Mia Davidson, Joe Fornabaio, Eric McNatt and Richard Renaldi. Each photographer provides a provocative perspective on our nation’s most compelling characters.  From high school football players in Brownwood, Texas and organic farmers in the Northwest, to residents of Alaska, famous left-of-center musicians and the people connected by a single transcontinental road, the book celebrates the distinct characters and varied pockets of life that make our country great.

Don (136) is the winner of this horrific DVD — It’s scary.  I hope you can handle it Don!!!

The gore-fest continues in the third installment of director John Gulager’s blood-curdling Feast series with Feast III: The Happy Finish on the DVD shelves now.

From the writers of Feast, Feast II and Saw IV and V, terror takes a frightening turn when the viscous attacks continue in the dark and deadly, not mention bloody horror flick. I truly don’t see anything happy about this finish. It’s horror soaking through and through.  It’s not easy to watch, either, too bloodthirsty and horrifically bloodstained.

The movie picks up moments after the end of Feast II, the survivors are saved by Shot Bus Gus, a mysterious prophet who has the uncanny ability to control the beasts.   Leading the survivors through the sewers into the big city, the group learns from the prophet that the beasts originated from a place called “The Hive.”  Armed with this new information and a renewed interest in living, the motley crew of strangers decides to fight back and destroy the beasts once and for all.  Featuring intense and disturbing performances from horror vixen Jenny Wade (No Reservations, Feast), Martin Klebba (Feast II, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End), Clu Gulager (Feast) and Craig Henningsen (”The Slammer”), the un-godly monsters continue on their path of death and destruction in the third chapter of the Feast series, based on the original “Project Greenlight”- winning film Feast.

The Academy Award nominated soundtrack for Defiance is extraordinary. Joshua Bell plays the violin to James Norton Howard’s music.  The collaboration is stupendous. The violin is a character in itself and so much part of the Eastern Europe culture that the film could not be without.
